Choose VPS resources using your actual workload Prindi

Choose a VPS by the application requirements and expected workload rather than the largest number in a plan name. Memory, processor demand, storage growth and transfer allowance each affect a different part of the service. A website with expensive database queries can need a different configuration from a static download site with similar visitor counts.

Recommended workflow

  1. Check the supported operating system, application version, minimum memory and any licence requirements.
  2. Estimate concurrent activity, database size, upload growth and monthly data transfer rather than using visitor count alone.
  3. Compare a representative peak with CPU, memory, storage and transfer limits, then select capacity with room for routine maintenance.

Weeby VPS plans are self-managed Linux services. Server rental does not include every operating task, commercial control panel licence or backup arrangement. Decide who will maintain the operating system, monitor services and respond to failures before choosing a plan. If management assistance is required, review its separate scope and included engineering time.

Allow space for operating system files, application data, logs and temporary work such as upgrades or backup creation. More storage does not automatically improve an inefficient query or a slow external integration. Begin with measured requirements, watch normal and peak usage, and use those observations to justify a later upgrade.
