Give every hosted project a clear maintenance and support handover

Website owners, agencies and reseller customers benefit from knowing exactly who manages each part of a hosted project. A handover should identify the domain, DNS, hosting account, website administrator and external service owners.

Provide separate user access where available, using the permissions needed for the person's work. Avoid sharing a reseller master login or reusing one administrator password across unrelated customer websites.

Document the platform, renewal cycle, package limits, backup procedure and the scope of any maintenance agreement. Keep temporary migration and development access under review, and remove it when the work has been completed.
